About / Our Name

Many people may have wondered why we chose the name “Phreedom Technologies” so it seems appropriate to try and answer that.

First of all, we are a local Phoenix Arizona company and we think the name, and spelling, is appropriate homage to our home town.

Second, many of our programmers use PHP* as their language of choice for web application development and thought that spelling of Phreedom was a fitting tribute to the name of the language.

Finally, as many of our staff and principals have worked for large companies and know how hard it is to find good consultants that not only know their stuff, but aren’t focused on locking you into their services or products. We thought the word Freedom best expressed the customer experience that you, as the customer want, and we strive to deliver. Freedom of choice, freedom of constraints, in short – freedom to use technology the way that makes sense for your business. With a small spelling change of course.

That, and maybe we wanted to be a little different. So forgive us the non-standard spelling and, in turn, we will reset your expectations about what an IT service company can do for your organization.

*PHP stands for “PHP Hypertext Preprocessor“. It is a recursive acronym. Yes, programmers have a strange sense of humor.
